Creating and Securing a Paypal Account in UK

I recently moved to UK to look after my sick mother. While my sister is working in the United States, where she is earning more than I used to have from my previous job, I was the one who had to quit my job for the sake of our mother. My sister promised to send us money on a weekly basis for Momms medication, as well as for other household expenses. She instructed me to create a pay pal uk account, where she plans to send the money starting this weekend. I once had a Paypal account, but it was registered in another country. Seeing that my sister has more experience using this online facility, she is probably aware that I have to make another account now that I will be using it in UK. My sister warned me about securing my account as there were also reported cases regarding unscrupulous individuals who are making money out of Paypal in United Kingdom. I have to aware of this. There is no way we can waste money at this point, when our mother has a lot of medications to go through.
